San Francisco, Aug 28 : Tech giant Microsoft has launched an update to Office that extends the number of documents that people can edit in real time for iOS as well as Android users.The Office mobile apps are now compatible with co-authoring documents that are protected by Microsoft Purview Information Protection, reports Windows Central.
Multiple users are able to edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents in real-time even if the documents are labeled with sensitive labels, according to the report.
According to the report the same functionality was available in Office for Windows, macOS and the web.
It is now accessible to users of Office across all platforms with the expansion to Android and iOS.
Being able to work in real time across multiple devices has become increasingly crucial with increasing numbers of people working remotely or from home.
With the top iPads and top Android tablets increasing in popularity as general computing devices, mobile connectivity is becoming essential for a lot of people as well.
A recent report stated that the tech giant has released an updated version in beta of the Office application on iPad with support for Apple Pencil’s handwriting to text feature.Scribble.
The feature lets you add and edit text in the Word document, PowerPoint presentation, or Excel spreadsheet with the Apple Pencil, with handwriting automatically transformed into written text.
