Meta has shut down its largest VR game to Quest 1 owners

New Delhi, Aug 8 : Meta is shutting down Quest 1 virtual reality (VR) headset support for “Population: One,” its most popular battle-royale-themed game in VR.
Quest 1 owners will no longer be allowed to play or launch the game after October 31, which its producer BigBox VR has announced.

Quest 1 players can still play the game provided they own a VR-ready personal PC.

“We are working on “BIG POP1 experiences that will challenge the limits of multiplayer VR.To concentrate our efforts on the next generation of technologies and features we’ll end Quest 1 support on October 31st, 2022.” the company announced in an announcement.

The company announced that starting in August 1, Meta Quest 2 will cost $399.99 and $499.99 for the 128GB and 256GB versions respectively.

Recently, Meta announced a new setting called Voice Mode in Horizon Worlds that allows users to have an increased control of their experience.

The feature lets Quest 2 VR headset users to select the way they hear conversations with people who aren’t on the friends’ list, with the option to not hear any conversations that are not of interest to them.
