It is also possible to share the current state of an application with the same app on a different device, and launch the app on another device without needing to run the app in background.

The initial release comes with an array of rich APIs that focus on the essential functions of devices discovery, secure connections and multi-device sessions, according to the company.

By using device discovery, you will be able to identify nearby devices, authorize peer-to peer communication, and then launch the application you want to use on the receiving devices.

Secure connections permit encrypted, low-latency data sharing between authorized devices.

Multi-device sessions allow for the transfer of or enhancement of the user experience of an app to multiple devices.

“This SDK allows you to concentrate on what is most important — creating delightful user experiences, and connecting these experiences across various of forms and platforms” Google said.Google.

The software also supports task handoff in which the user begins an activity on one device and is able to easily complete the task on another device.

“In addition apps won’t have to request or declare runtime access to connectivity protocols and users are able to allow apps to connect only to the device they have selected,” said the company.
