New Delhi, Aug 7 : The rapid decline in demand for education and consumer goods has led to a sharp decline in tablet sales as the world continues to move further away from the height of the epidemic, a new study has revealed.
Inflation and the possibility of recession are at the top of people’s minds and tablets are a top priority.

However, spending on tablets has been put on the back burner because the demand for pandemic-era levels of use has decreased according to a Canal report.

“Unlike notebooks tablets, tablets aren’t essential for business productivity, and so commercial demand hasn’t contributed to the decline in consumer spending,” said analyst Himani Mukka.

“Though consumers are expected to be weak, the trend is likely to continue through Q3, back-to-school promotions and the launch of new tablets ahead of the festive season will give a slight increase in consumer demand” Mukka added.

The countries in Asia-Pacific are shifting towards domestic production as governments encourage citizens to purchase locally produced products.

Numerous major players, such as Lenovo, Acer and Samsung have already jumped onto the this bandwagon with this trend, especially in India.

The latest data indicates that worldwide PC shipment (including tablets) have experienced a second consecutive quarter of decline in Q2, dropping 14 percent to 105 million units.

Tablet sales fell for the fourth quarter in a row, falling 11 percent year-on- last year, with 34.8 million units shipped around the world.

The worldwide Chromebook market was hit hard by the increase in demand for education in important markets one year ago.

“Chromebooks are currently being affected by a decline in sales year-over-year each quarter beginning in Q3 2021.” Research analyst Brian Lynch.

Lenovo was the top PC brand in the market (desktops notebooks, tablets, and desktops) in the quarter that it sold 20.9 million units around the world to earn 20% of the market in the second quarter of.
