Patel stated, “The biggest challenge is that an image is being created to portray that the Congress is anti Patidars and that the party doesn’t give importance to Patidar leaders. To safeguard the interests of patidars in the party, a coordination committee is being established. This committee will function from the district level to state level for the Patidar representatives. The idea is to balance the act to ensure that all communities have an equal representation in the electoral politics of the Congress.”

In the case of 182 Assembly seats, at most 60-65 seats are influenced or influenced by upper caste Patidars.

The Patidar community has claimed that their share of vote in the state is around 18 percent.Naresh Patel is believed to be an extremely powerful person in the Leuva Patel sub caste.

His role behind the scenes could influence the outcome of the elections at the very least in Saurashtra. Both the main political parties had submitted at least fifty candidates in the 2017 Assembly elections.
