Commonwealth Weightlifting C’ships: Hazarikapopy Wins Silver

Tashkent, Uzbekistan.December 11, 2011.: .Hazarika Popy (Indian weightlifter) won the silver medal for the women’s category of 59kg at Saturday’s 2021 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships.<br/ Hazarika lifted an impressive 84kg in snatch, and another 105kg clean and jerk to claim the second place on the podium.Rafiatu Lawal of Niger'a topped the podium with 207kg (92+115), while N Rajapaksa from Sri Lanka lifted 164kg (74)+90 to round out the top three.

<br/ <br/ Popy was unable to lift enough weights to place her 17th at the World Weightlifting Championships in 2021.These are concurrently being held.

<br/ <br/ Kuo HsingChun, a Tokyo Olympic gold medallist from Chinese Taipei, was named the five-time world champion.According to an olympics.com report, she lifted a total weight of 230kg and won the gold medal in clean and jerk with her 130kg effort.

<br/ <br/ Mariia Hanhur, a Ukrainian woman who lifted 101kg, won the top prize for snatch.<br/ <br/
