Chennai police issues notices to TDP leader Aziz!

The Chennai Central Crime Branch police has issued notices to Nellore parliamentary constituency TDP president and former city mayor Abdul Aziz to appear before them on the 28th of this month.Abdul Aziz, his brother Jalil, manages the Star Agro Marine Export Company in the name of family members.It also has branches abroad.Meanwhile, Prasad Gempex, based in Tnagar, Chennai, has invested Rs 42 crore in a stake in Star Agro.

Aziz, who is also a director of Star Agro, and his brother Abdul Jalil have been accused of embezzling money into their personal accounts and making threats against them, Gempex spokesperson Manohar Prasad told the Tamil Nadu High Court.As per the High Court orders, in December 2017, the Chennai Central Crime Branch Team-1, EDF-1 Wing police registered a case against Aziz, Jalil, Abdul Quddus and several others under sections 406, 420, 506 (I) R / W120 (b) of the IPC.

The affair caused a stir in the TDP at the time.However, Abdul Aziz said at the time that he had resigned as director after he got into active politics.

Criticisms abounded at the time that he had said so in order to escape the case.CCB police officials on Saturday issued notice under Section 41A to appear for further hearing in the above case.The notices state that Abdul Jalil will be present at 10.30 am on the 28th of this month, Abdul Quddus at 12 noon and Abdul Aziz at 1 pm.
