New Delhi, Sep 13 : Apple has launched iOS 16 to turn your iPhone into an even more personal device which brings the most significant update to the Lock Screen, the ability to edit and collaborate in messages, new tools in Mail and new ways to interact with videos and images with live text and visual look up.iOS 16 is now available as a free software upgrade for iPhone 8 and later, Apple stated in an announcement.
In a later update this year, Apple will introduce iCloud Shared Photo Library to provide families a new method to share photos easily with an additional iCloud library that can hold up to six people can work on and contribute to, as well as take advantage of.
The Reimagined Lock Screen in iOS 16 includes a brand fresh depth effect which displays the subject in the front of the clock, with dynamic font styles and color choices that alter the appearance of the time and date and widgets that give information in an eye.
“Redesigned notifications are now rolling in starting at the bottom, giving an easy perspective of the Lock Screen, and users can look at the notifications in the form of a larger list, stacking or in an count view,” said Apple.
Through Focus filters, apps such as Calendar Mail, Messages, Calendar and Safari can only display content that is relevant to the user’s Focus which helps them find a better balance.
Updates to Messages allow users to edit, undo sends messages, and even mark conversations as read making it easier to remain connected.
“With iOS 16, users can now invite their friends and family members to SharePlay through Messages, giving users another way to access shared content such as music or movies and share control over playback,” the tech giant announced.
Additionally, new collaboration tools in Messages enable working with other users quick and easy.
Users can now schedule the sending of emails in advance of time or stop delivery of the message before it is delivered to an recipient’s inbox.
Users can also create reminders that remind users to return to an email at a later time with Remind Later.Users will receive suggestions automatically to follow-up on an email if they’ve not received any response, and receive notifications when they’ve failed to include an attachment or a recipient in the email.
“Users can now hold and tap on the object of an image in order to take it off the background and then place it in apps like Messages,” said Apple.
Visual Look Up also expands to recognize insects, birds spiders, statues, and birds and helps users quickly gain information about objects and images in photographs.
Surfing in Safari is even more secure with passkeys, which is a next-generation credential that isn’t compromised or stolen which makes it more secure and simple to use.
“Designed to replace passwords, passkeys utilize Touch ID or Face ID to verify biometrics as well as iCloud Keychain to connect to iPhone, iPad, Mac as well as Apple TV with end-to-end encryption,” Apple announced.
The Fitness app is now accessible for every iPhone users, allowing them to them track and achieve fitness goals, even if they do not own an Apple Watch.
