“The Republic of India must continue to uphold this legacy of unwavering support for the Palestinian people. We echo Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless words, ‘Palestine belongs to the Palestinians just as England belongs to the English and France to the French.’ India’s history is one of steadfast solidarity against apartheid and colonialism, from South Africa to Indonesia and Palestine. It is imperative not to forsake this rich legacy,” the resolution declared.
The assembly extended unequivocal support to the enduring struggle of the Palestinian people in reclaiming their occupied territories. It earnestly implored the international community to hold Israel accountable for its commission of crimes against humanity.
“Israel must adhere to the principles of international law and the resolutions of the United Nations.Additionally, it is crucial for Israel to honor the Oslo Accords of 1992-93.
Putting an end to its occupation of the Gaza Strip, West Bank, Jerusalem, and all territories seized in 1967 is of paramount importance.Israel must no longer obstruct the establishment of a free and sovereign Palestinian state,” the resolution emphasized.
