A private function in Nizamabad on Wednesday witnessed an awkward and anxious scene as state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha ran into one another, leaving leaders of both parties apprehensive.
Sources said that the event was a house-warming ceremony organised by BJP Nizamabad district president Baswapuram Laxminarsaiah at BLN Gardens in Madhavanagar.
While Bandi Sanjay was greeting the family of his host, Kavitha reportedly walked into the residence at the same time.Seeing one another, Bandi and Kavitha exchanged greetings, with Kavitha also introducing BRS Nizamabad urban MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta and Zilla Parishad chairman Dadannagari Vittal Rao to Bandi Sanjay.
After a few minutes of running into one another, both leaders departed from the residence.
Sources said that Laxminarsaiah had visited Kavitha’s residence in Hyderabad to invite her to the house-warming ceremony.
Laxminarsaiah began his political career with TRS and later joined BJP.During his stint with TRS, he enjoyed a close rapport with the Kalvakuntla family.
A few months earlier, Bandi Sanjay made some derogatory comments on MLC Kavitha, which was condemned in political circles including BJP leaders.
