India will be a key hub to speed up digital, IoT adoption across the globe: Siemens

By Nishant ArorMumbai 13th September : German industrial manufacturing major Siemens on Tuesday unveiled an open platform for business in India to speed up digital transformation and increase value for businesses of all sizes across the globe which includes over 60 million small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) in the country.India will play a major part in the global launch of the SiemensXcelerator program, said Peter Koerte, Chief Technology Officer and Strategy Officer at Siemens AG.

The accelerator provides a broad portfolio of digital as well as Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled offerings (software hardware, software and digital services) from Siemens and third party partners that are certified "With more than 6,000 software engineers in our development centers in India, India will be at the forefront and a crucial hub to enhance the digital transformation initiatives of our customers across the globe," Koerte said during the events launch here during the Siemens India Innovation Day 2022 "With the advent of Siemens Xcelerator I am certain that as partners, we will scale up the digital transformation journey of customers in India," he told the audience "Siemens Xcelerator is also an evolving marketplace that facilitates transactions and interactions between partners, customers, and developers.According to Sunil Mathur, Managing Director and CEO of Siemens Limited, SMEs in India will be the biggest users of this platform since it will allow them to expand, upgrade and adapt to new design and parts quicker to remain ahead of the curve "Siemens Xcelerator can help create a strong ecosystem of partners who will work together to accelerate digital transformation that is tailored to specific business objectives.

Our goal is to assist companies improve their performance, flexibility and long-term sustainability," stated Mathur.Siemens Limited is the flagship listed company of Siemens AG in India and has operations of approximately Rs 12,756 crore with employed 8,608 people (as when the last data was released).
