Port of Spain Port of Spain, September 12 : The Barbados Royals secured their fifth consecutive victory of the 2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season with an impressive win of eight wickets against Jamaica Tallawahs.
The Royals decided to field following the winning of the toss.

They then lost Jamaica opener Brandon King for a duck by Kyle Mayers.However captain Rovman Powell was in charge of the Tallawahs and scored his second consecutive half century.

Amir Jangoo and Powell put on 57.Then, some powerful hitting by Raymon Reifer (41) and Fabian Allen, helped them reach 153-7.

West Indies fast bowler Obed McCoy was the stand-out bowler for the Royals Obed McCoy took three wickets and scoring 24 runs.

Barbados Royals starting their chase lost Kyle Mayers early but with their South African players Quinton de Kock, Corbin Bosch and captain David Miller combining across the innings to lead the team to victory with eight wickets.

Quinton de Kock and Bosch made a fantastic 117-run partnership that frightened the Tallawahs bowlers.As Bosch had to abandon his wicket Miller was brought in and scored 16 runs from eight balls to bring his team over the line with just one ball spare.

The victory means that Barbados Royals maintain their unbeaten start to the season, and keep their position on top of the league table and Jamaica Tallawahs remain second.

Brief score: Jamaica Tallawahs 156/8 in 20 overs (Rovman Powell 52, Raymon Reiffer 41, Amir Jangoo 30, Obey McCoy 3/24, Jason Hold 2/24) lost to Barbados Royals 157/2 in 19.5 overs (Quinton de Kock 64 not out, Corbin Bosch 56) by 8 wickets.
