Dharamsala 9th September : Tibetan spiritual leader The Dalai Lama, on Friday mourned the death of the longest-serving monarch of Britain Queen Elizabeth II, at the age of 96.In a letter addressed to royal son of the queen, His Majesty Charles III, the elderly Buddhist monk expressed his profound sadness and offered his heartfelt condolences to the royal Family, and the entire population of the United Kingdom.
“I remember seeing images of her coronation in magazines when I was a kid in Tibet,” His Holiness wrote.”Her reign as Britain’s longest-serving monarch, was a time of celebration and inspiration, as well as an comforting feeling of continuity for many people who live today.
“Your mother lived a rich life with dignity and grace, with an unwavering conviction of service and an open heart, qualities that we all should be proud of.”
The letter ended with the monk expressing his prayers and best wishes.
