“We are introducing a touch-optimized taskbar, which is designed to help you feel more comfortable and confident using your tablet device as tablet.Your taskbar will be automatically changed to the optimized version when you unplug or fold down the keyboard on the 2-in-1 device,” the company stated in the blog post.

“This feature is only available on devices that can function as tablets. It is not compatible with desktop PCs or laptops,” it added.

To remind you to be reminded, there are two versions of this taskbar: the expanded state and the collapsed one.

In a collapsed state the taskbar is taken away of the way and giving the tablet more screen space and keeps you from accidentally activating the taskbar while using your tablet.

When the taskbar is expanded, it has been designed to be easier to use with touchscreens. You can quickly switch between the two states by simply swiping upwards and downwards in the lower part of your gadget.

This update brings changes to the System Tray that affect all kinds of devices, not just 2-in-1 devices.

“With this update users will experience the round focus and hover effect across the icons in the lower left because of the ongoing modernization of the user experience” the company announced.

You might also find that it’s not possible to drag-and-drop or change the order of the icons on your system tray with this update.
