UAE warns of the possibility of action after a brawl among fans in Pakistan-Afghanistan game

Dubai 8th September : UAE authorities have warned of punishment for fans who violate discipline rules following clashes between fans at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.The fans went to watch Pakistan and Afghanistan play in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022.
In a nail-biting match in the Super Four stage of the tournament, Pakistan beat Afghanistan by one wicket and earned an invitation to the semi-finals, Geo News reported.

Afghan fans were angry at the result, with some attacking Pakistani supporters with seats in the stadium.

The authorities have stated that they will closely monitor spectators and any damage that is caused to the property or injuries incurred by others on the premises will be taken care of with in a strict manner.

They also said that fans must respect the rules and the sport of sports requires respect from everyone, including spectators.

Naseem Shah’s sixes on the opening two balls of the final over helped Pakistan win the match from the grasps of defeat.

The one-wicket victory means that Pakistan will now face Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia Cup.
