New Delhi, Sep 7 : Chip maker Qualcomm has unveiled Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 mobile platforms that will target the mid-tier and mass-volume smartphone segments.The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 extends gamers’ reach with an expansive network and powerful performance and power for intense gaming.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 offers incredible performance and AI that makes interactions smooth and easy.The chip also offers advanced features in photography and a better connectivity, according to the company in an announcement.
Commercially-available gadgets that are powered by Snapdragon 6 are anticipated to launch in the first quarter of 2023.Meanwhile, devices built on Snapdragon 4 are likely to be available in the current third quarter.
“Both Snapdragon 6 and Snapdragon 4 offer enhancements in the respective series to allow advances in capture and connectivity, entertainment and AI.These mobile platforms assist our customers provide advanced products for the consumer,” stated Deepu John senior director, product management at Qualcomm Technologies.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 allows users to capture 108 megapixel images and videos with computational HDR through support for staggered HDR image sensors -which is the first in the Snapdragon 6-series.
Snapdragon 6 features the 7th Gen Qualcomm AI Engine enabling up to three times more AI performance when compared to its predecessor to provide intelligent assistance across the board, which includes activity tracking using AI.
“With powerful gaming features that offer up to 35 percent faster graphics rendering and 40 percent faster processingspeed, Snapdragon 6 is able to power HDR gaming at 60+ frames per second, offering real-time responses and top-quality visuals to deliver the best entertainment,” said the company.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 boasts amazing performance and a long battery life.
The platform comes with up to 15% enhanced CPU and up to 10 percent more efficient GPU when compared with the previous version that allows users to multitask effortlessly and enjoy an immersive experience.
