Panaji 2 September : A specially-trained police unit that is in Haryana to investigate the BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s death case has gathered some crucial evidence of the case, Director of Police (North Goa) Shobhit Saxena said here on Friday.He stated that the investigation is on the right track and Goa police are examining every angle to discover the motive behind the murder alleged to have occurred.”We are also trying to establish the connection with the murder and trying to uncover the various kinds of conspiracies that are in the complaint.” in the police complaint,”” the SP added.
According to the police Phogat’s brother Rinku Dhaka had stated in the case that Sonali was killed by her personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan with Sukwinder Singh in order to take over her assets and end her political career.
“Besides the team that was looking into the situation in Goa we have formed a separate team that has traveled to Haryana.
It has uncovered some important facts and evidence that has been gathered by the team” Saxena told the media.
He said that the police leave no step unturned to ensure the probe is fair and objective.of merit.
Goa police he claimed, have had good cooperation from their Haryana counterpart, and therefore they were able to conduct an effective investigation.
Phogat arrived in Goa on the 22nd of August and was staying in an hotel in Anjuna.
She was uneasy at night on Monday, and the next day, she was transported to the St.Anthony hospital in Anjuna where she was declared dead.
According to Goa police, the drug ‘Methamphetamine’ was seized from Sonali Phogat has been taken from the restroom of the Curlies restaurant in Anjuna-Goa.
As of now, five people including her Personal Assistant Sudhir Sangwan, as well as his close friend Sukhwinder Singh were detained in the connection with the investigation.
