Twitter whistleblower to be deposed in the legal battle between Musk and Twitter

San Francisco, Aug 29 : The so-called Twitter whistleblower Peiter “Mudge” Zatko will appear before a judge in a legal dispute between Elon Musk and Prag Agrawal-led micro-blogging platform, media reported Monday.
The former Twitter security chief Zatko has claimed that Twitter has misled regulators regarding its security policies and the real amount of bot accounts.

Zatko has been issued an order by Musk’s legal team for a deposition on the 9th of September in the ongoing suit between Twitter and Musk, as reported by The Verge.

The court is also expected to look at documents related to the ending of Zatko’s employment with Twitter and his continued control of Twitter shares.

Zatko is also scheduled to testify before US Congress on the 13th of September regarding allegations he made against the micro-blogging platform run by Agrawal.

Zatko will be a witness before the Senate regarding his claims of security breaches on the social network the Senate Judiciary Committee announced.

“Zatko’s claims of widespread security flaws and state actor foreign interference on Twitter cause serious concern.If the claims are true they could pose serious security and data privacy threats for Twitter users all over the world,” said Senators Richard J.Durbin (D-Ill) and Charles E.Grassley (R-Iowa) from the Senate Judiciary Committee in a statement.

Zatko has had private meetings with Judiciary Committee staff, and has attended three meetings with staff on Capitol Hill, according to the report.

Twitter is also being investigated for privacy issues in the European Union (EU) after the whistleblower complaint.
