New Delhi, Aug 29 : Teachers’ unions of Delhi University (DU) have claimed that the Parliamentary Committee report on reservation and roster has not been in place in the university until now.In addition, stating that the Parliamentary panel discovered the backlog of 4,500 posts in DU however, the university hasn’t given any attention to it The Delhi University Teachers Forum has asked the administration of the varsity to fill the backlog of posts within a certain time.
The panel also concluded that the system was not being implemented according to DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training) rules in three colleges the union of teachers has stated and added that there was no action instituted by the university administration in this regard over the last six years.
In expressing concern about this issue, Forum of Academics for Social Justice has demanded execution of the letter addressed to DU by the Parliamentary Committee on December 22 in 2016.
The Forum, in this regard has filed a petition to DU Vice Chancellor Professor Yogesh Kumar Singh.
Forum Chair Dr.Hansraj Suman has said that the panel of Parliament has stated in the circular to the former Vice-Chancellor of DU that certain colleges aren’t implementing the reservation policy correctly and are ignoring the regulations of the system of rosters.The panel also recommended that the UGC as the primary agency for implementing the reservation system, should halt the grant of these colleges, he added.
He has also mentioned that the committee discovered differences in the roster register that is maintained by the DU’s Aryabhatta College, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College and College of Vocational Studies.

Suman said that discrepancies remain in the list of certain colleges.The posts that were previously intended for reserved categories are now generalized in the roster which is why there is a lot of anger among the Adhoc teachers.
