New Delhi, Aug 28 : The Delhi Traffic Police have advised residents to stay clear of a few roads in Lutyens zone due to the repair work that is being carried out following a section of the Ashoka road caved in on Saturday.The traffic police stated they would be closing Ashoka Road from Patel Chowk to Gol Post Office (GPO) will remain closed for the next seven days.
“It will remain closed for seven consecutive days because of maintenance work being carried out by the municipal agency.These roads are likely to see a significant increase in traffic because of this repair work: Patel Chowk, Sansad Marg, around GPO, Ashoka Road, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Imtiaz Khan Marg, Rafi Marg, round about GurudwaraRakabganj and round about Windsor Place,” the traffic advisory distributed by the traffic police read.
Commuters who use vehicles are asked to plan their trip in advance and avoid the mentioned roads to ensure their safety.
On Monday, Delhities will face a lot of issues due to this.
Police said that additional traffic police officers will be deployed to keep the traffic chaos.
