France plans to facilitate the travel of groups of individuals, such as business managers artists, dual nationals as well as athletes to fly to France.

In the past year, France restricted visas for people from Algeria and argued that it is not able to accept illegal immigrants.

Macron also stated that he was ready to build the relationship with Algeria in fighting Islamist terrorists in the region.

He stressed the importance of stopping mercenary militias, like the Russian Wagner Group, from spreading further.

Algerian gas supplies to France will remain at stable levels, but they could be increasing, Macron said.

Algeria’s gas supply to France don’t play an important contribution in the current crisis in energy. They make only 8-9 percent of French consumption of gas which in turn is 20 percent of the energy consumption of the country overall.

However, Macron was pleased that Italy had made promises of more deliveries to Italy which would benefit Europe in general.

Europe is struggling with an energy shortage with prices rising. Many countries including Italy are looking for alternatives sources of energy to decrease their dependence of Russian gas, despite Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
