By Ashe O Washington 25th August : US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday he did not receive any prior notice of the FBI raid on the residence of his former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago (Florida) residence which led to the confiscation of 11 boxes of classified documents that is what the Department of Justice considers evidence to charge the former President under the espionage statute.

Some documents relating to CIA, FBI and intelligence reports of nuclear dangers from other countries.

“I did not have any prior notice.None, zero.Absolutely nothing.Thanks,” said Biden when asked by a reporter about the incident after he finished his speech by of announcing forgiveness for students.Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked the President whether he was aware of the raid prior to the start of time.”Mr President What kind of advance notice did you get of the FBI’s intention to search Mar-a-Lago,” he asked.

The raid of August 8 was a result in the FBI taking away hundreds of documents that were classified, which Trump claimed to have taken when he quit office in January 2021.Attorney General Merrick Garland has claimed that he personally endorsed the warrant.

The White House has denied being informed prior to the raid.

“The White House was not informed and wasn’t even conscious of the incident,” White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre had stated on the 9th of August, a day following the raid.

She had stated that “no one in the White House was given a warning”.

Biden announced he will pay up to $20,000 in debt of Pell Grant recipients for those earning less than $125,000 a year and couples earning less than $250,000 per year.

Other student loans up to $10,000 can be forgiven if you meet the same conditions.

The President also extended the moratorium for student loan repayments for the final time.

The moratorium, put in place in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, is set to expire on December 31st.

He also set a limit on the the repayment of student loans to 5 percent of the monthly income.

About 43 million borrowers could get some kind of relief through Biden’s latest program, with nearly half of those having their debt completely erased.

Progressive Democrats opposed Biden’s plan, arguing that it was not in the spirit of larger cancellation.

In the meantime, Biden recalled his college years and his studies during his speech about debt forgiveness when he stated in the speech’s opening that his father’s struggles to pay for his (Biden’s) tuition fees for higher education led him to give the relief.

“My father was just as many millions of parents across the nation,” Biden said.”He believed, like I do, that a college education was the ticket to a better future.But as time passes, that ticket has become expensive.”

Biden, 79, earned an undergraduate degree in history and political science at the University of Delaware in 1965 according to the university’s website.He was awarded an Juris Doctor degree from the law school located at Syracuse University in New York in 1968 according to the law school’s journal.

He has been vocal about his claim that he attended a state-run school in concordance with his long-held popular nickname “Middle-Class Joe”.He is the first president who has not had an education at an Ivy League school since Ronald Reagan as per Newsweek.

“I recall my senior year, when I was accepted admitted to one of the Ivy’s that are small and was accepted into a lot of other colleges,” Biden said on Wednesday as he described his family’s struggle in obtaining enough money to afford an expensive school.
