Islamabad the 25th of August : There have been renewed efforts being made inside the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and by the Punjab Chief Minister to prevent the party’s chairman and former PM Imran Khan from confronting the military establishment, sources said.Sources informed of this said that, according to the PTI the person working extremely hard in this regard is the former Minister Faisal Vawda, The News reported.
Pervez Khattak, the former Defence Minister is also working to improve his position, the sources said.
From the PML-Q, a alliance of the PTI.of PTI in Punjab and Punjab, the Punjab’s Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi and his son Moonis are also urging Khan to slow down.
The PTI Chairman is being advised that a confrontation with the establishment won’t help the party or him.
He has been warned this will cause harm to the PTI as well as the country and the institution, The News reported.
These sources suggest that these efforts could be able to soften Khan in relation to the military establishment, and in the next few days, such an improvement could be seen.
There are many in the PTI leadership who are dissatisfied with Khan’s aggressiveness towards the establishment, but only a handful of them dare to speak about it without a face, The News quoted the sources as saying.
There are some hawkish members in the political party that don’t only support Khan’s hard-talk against the military, but also poison Khan with conspiracy theories as well as false details in attempt to fuel the war.
Strangely , the former premier during the last few months and weeks has been more prone to the suggestions of militant elements rather than those cautioning him of the dangers and risks connected with the strategy of confrontation.
Recently, in a high-level party meeting, Vawda had warned Khan that senior leaders in his circle play the part of snakes in the grass, trying to make him unqualified and set the stage for their own premiership, sources said.
