Kohli is back with the Indian team for the Asia Cup in T20I format He last played for the Indian team in the tour of England in July.He was then put on rest for the white-ball tours of West Indies and ODIs against Zimbabwe.

Kohli is in a long-term lean period since he has not hit 100 runs in international cricket since the beginning of November, 2019.

“No I haven’t spoken to him, but it’s not rocket science.

The best players awake in the same time. They need to take a break.

mental fatigue can sneak in to the top players in the world. There is not one player in the world cricket has not experienced an ups and down.I am sure that this downtime isn’t only for the body.it’s time to reassess.”

“He could have reflected on what he did not do right? What were the things he did right and should continue to focus on those. What he allowed to enter his thinking that was not needed or important? All of these factors can be considered,” said Shastri in an event for press conferences held by Star Sports, the official broadcaster of Asia Cup 2022.

Shastri explained further how the break could have regenerated Kohli in the lead up to of Asia Cup and then Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia in October and November.

“You have the opportunity to decide what’s the best route of action when you go back to the park.

If it’s the shot you choose, or is the way you plan when to change gears in the course of a T20 game and whether I should give me more time or not.All of these will need to be considered. Now is the time to carry out the plans.”

“He will return with an easier mind because the temperature isn’t as high. You’ve been absent. What you do now will set the right tone.He receives 50 points in the first game, but mouths will remain shut for the remainder of the competition. What’s occurred in the past will be the history.Remember that public memory is extremely short. This is why it is a two-way street. The challenge here is to achieve that calm and then to take one day at an time.”

Former Pakistan captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram was positive about Kohli getting back to his best and took attack on those who were who were critical of Kohli’s recent poor performances on social media.

“Let me begin with the past year or more. What I’ve seen in the social media world, Indian fans, against Virat Kohli, that the majority of their fans, media or perhaps have been aiming a shot at him without justification.

He has just turned 33 years old, he is considered one of the most famous of the past of the modern era.He averages 50 in all formats including T20, he is averaging 50.”

“He is still as fit as a fiddle he remains one of the top fielders India has.Form is fleeting, class is never ending and that is the case with Virat Kohli has become.I am certain he will return, he is a great player.I hope he doesn’t come to play against Pakistan. However, in general he could have a chance to come back.”
