Polish President in Kiev for talks with Zelensky

Warsaw 23 August : Polish President Andrzej Duda has traveled to Kiev to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, to discuss military and humanitarian aid as the Warsaw government announced on Tuesday.
Cabinet office chief Pawel Szrot told reporters that Duda will later be able to join Zelensky in online talks in the framework of the Crimea Platform, a diplomatic initiative launched by Ukraine in August of last year with the aim of reversing the 2014 annexation by Russia of the Black Sea peninsula, reports the news agency dpa.

Ukraine hopes to make use of the second platform meeting to gain support for reclaiming the Crimean Peninsula.

Other notable leaders who are part of the online discussions include German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg.

An estimated of 50 people from all over the globe are invited.

This is Duda’s second trip to Kiev following the time Russia began its military invasion of Ukraine in February.
