Helsinki 23rd August : A test for drugs administered by Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin in the in the wake of the criticism of footage of her dancing the party has returned positive, the government announced.Marin stated that she had a drug test on August 19 amid growing criticism after videos surfaced of her dancing with her friends at private parties in her spare time, according to the DPA news agency.
In a statement issued on Monday, the government stated that “no drugs were detected” in the test, noting that the prime minister paid for the cost of the test for herself.
One of the videos had fueled speculation about whether drugs could be involved in the party around two weeks ago.
The 36-year-old Marin has repeatedly stated that she has never taken drugs, and that when she went out with her buddies, she only drank alcohol.
The video’s images have divided the country in a heated debate about Marin’s behavior in public.
The Prime Minister also emphasized her right to enjoy her time in leisure in the same manner as other people who are her age.
One of the world’s most youthful leader, Marin makes no secret of drinking and is often photographed at music festivals.
In the last month she was named by the “coolest Premier in the world” by German newspaper Bild.
In 2021 Marin was apologised to Marin for getting into close contact with an Covid-19 case.
In 2019, at the age of 34, Marin became the world’s youngest Prime Minister when she was picked by her own party to succeed the former leader Antti Rinne.
