Bengaluru 16 August : The Aam Women’s Wing of the Aadmi Party on Tuesday filed an official complaint to the Karnataka State Women’s Commission, seeking action against the former Minister and Congress MLA Priyank Kharge over his controversial comment that girls should be able to be in bed to secure an official job in the BJP government’s term.
In an interview with the media, Kushala Swamy, AAP’s Bengaluru women’s wing president declared, “MLA Priyank Kharge has spoken out against women during an event in Kalaburagi on the 12th of August.”

“This is a bribe-based government (BJP) and young boys who want jobs and want to get a job, they must pay an fee.He is making a sexist statement that girls must go to bed if they need work.This is a demeaning comment to job-seeking and employed women and the Women’s Commission should take strict action,” she added.

“It is not unusual to BJP, Congress and JD (S) leaders to make sexist remarks to benefit their political cause.

But, Priyank, who belongs to a family which has played a significant part in the history of politics in the state has made a statement that has left the scourge of all women who are applying for government jobs,” the AAP leader declared.

“Considering the graveness of this statement, the State Women’s Commission should register suo moto a complaint against him.” Usha Mohan, AAP spokesperson for media, said.

Priyank Kharge’s comments caused an uproar in the political arena and was rebuked by all sides.

Then, Kharge apologised for his remarks and clarified that his goal was not hurting anyone’s opinions, but he was expressing the truth.
