Nearly 21,000 refugees were are brought into the UK from Afghanistan Government

London 13 August, London : Over 21,000 people which includes British citizens as well as their families, were transported back to the UK from Afghanistan the government declared.
The group of people also includes Afghans that worked for Britain and those who are deemed high-risk, including journalists, women’s rights activists, and other members of the LGBT+ community, reports DPA news agency, using the UK government’s latest update as saying.

The update was released in response to repeated requests for information regarding arrivals prior to the celebrations of the anniversary of one year of the Taliban invasion on August 15, 2021.

The total number includes approximately 15,000 persons who were evacuated in Operation Pitting, the initial British military rescue mission.

About 5,000 people were taken to safety following the evacuation in August of last year.

Around 2,000 local employed Afghan personnel as well as their families were escorted out of the country prior to Operation Pitting under the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) that was implemented in April 2021.

As of now, 10,000 people have been transferred into Britain through ARAP.

A current total was not reported on the number of Afghan refugees who been admitted in Britain through the distinct Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) that was established in January 2022.

At the time of writing the government has stated that around 6,500 people were taken to safety in the course of and following Operation Pitting, and had been granted permission to remain in the program under the program.This is the most current public figure available.
