Lucknow 9 August : Self-proclaimed BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi, who was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly abusing and assaulting a female in the housing society he runs in Noida and was taken into 14-day judicial custody.
Tyagi had hurled insults at the woman who was a resident of Grand Omaxe, who had resisted the plant of trees in the common area of the society.

Tyagi declared that he was in his rights to plant trees.

The videos of the incident became all over social media An FIR was registered and Tyagi was arrested in accordance with Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code.

He disappeared after the case was filed against him.

Tyagi declared himself to be the executive member of the national level of the BJP’s Kisan Morcha as well as the national coordinator of the party’s Yuva Samiti, even though the party’s ruling coalition denied any connections with Tyagi.

Tyagi was finally detained on Tuesday from Meerut.

During the investigation, the police also confiscated two cars of Tyagi that were discovered in breach of the Motor Vehicles Act.The police seized an SUV with an BJP flag and an VVIP MLA stickers on its tinted windshield.

In the meantime, UP Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avanish Awasthi has offered a reward of Rs 2 lakh for the team who arrested Tyagi.DG (Intelligence) D.S.Chauhan has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for police officers.
