Hyderabad 8th August : Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday launched the ‘Swatantra Bhatha Vajrotsava Dwi Sapthaham”, the two-week-long Independence Day celebrations.
The state government has planned the celebrations in conjunction of the celebrations across the nation to commemorate 75 years of the country’s independence.

The Chief Minister raised his national flag in the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) to officially kick off the celebrations that will last for two weeks.

He paid tribute to the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi.Cultural programs were part of the colorful ceremony of the inaugural.

To mark the occasion of the celebrations the government has chosen to give out 1.2 crore flags to fly the national flag on every home throughout the state.The ceremony to conclude of the celebrations is scheduled to take place in the LB Stadium in Hyderabad on August 22.

In his speech the Chief Minister claimed that India gained independence with many sacrifices and battles.He called Mahatma Gandhi as the spokesman of India’s independence, and the messenger of peace who introduced the concept of non-violence to the entire world as a universal man and an the inspiration of many people in all over the world.He also noted that Barack Obama had also stated that he was elected president of the United States with inspiration from Gandhiji.

He condemned the efforts made by certain groups to denigrate Mahatma Gandhi.”Mahatma is Mahatma,” he remarked.

KCR as the president is commonly known, stated that after India became independent, a number of people were involved in keeping the country together.He stated that states such as Jammu and Kashmir, Jonagadh and Hyderabad then joined India and, after a lot of effort, Puducherry, Goa, and Sikkim were made part of the India.

He declared that India could achieve growth with the end of poverty.”As long as there’s poverty there will be turmoil and conflict.Every citizen should have the feeling that this is their country,” he said.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader also called for the rejection of those who seek to create division between people and create discord in the nation.

He insists on that unity is essential in order to propel the country along the path of growth.

He declared that Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavam celebrations have been planned to educate the younger generation of the spirit of India’s struggle for independence.

He demanded that the younger generation about India’s struggle for freedom.

He also asked the people’s representatives to organize the celebrations in an extravagant manner.
