New Delhi, Aug 5 : Rahul Gandhi along with several other top figures of the Congress were detained by police during protests against the Central government over price hikes and joblessness in the capital city of India on Friday.
The agitated Congress MPs were detained in the Vijay Chowk while moving towards the Rashtrapati Bhawan from the Parliament House.

Congress has announced a massive protest on Friday, aimed at the policies of the Central government and the rising rate of inflation.In black attire MPs under the direction of Rahul Gandhi attempted to organize marches starting from Parliament House to the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

“All Congress MPs were marching towards Rashtrapati Bhawan to discuss the issue of price inflation and inflation but they’re not letting us continue,” said Rahul Gandhi.

In the early hours in the day, Rahul Gandhi said that India “is witnessing the “death of democracy’ and anyone who opposes the rise of dictatorship is ‘viciously attacked”.

Rahul Gandhi said that we are living in an era of dictatorship, and that the things that were built in 70 years was destroyed in the last eight years.

“All the government institutions, the judiciary, and media, and the judiciary are controlled by the RSS and all the financial infrastructure is controlled by them.” Gandhi has alleged.

“I will perform my job and then I’ll be a target for more attacks.The person who threatens is is afraid.They are afraid of the situation of the nation.The promises they made have not been able to fulfill.They are frauds.They lie all day.” Gandhi said during an interview with the media in the early morning.
