Separately, the Civil Society Organisations (CSO), Konyak Union and Oting Village Council as well as Konyak Students Union and Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khung, told media that the shooting incident was the responsibility of all security personnel. The CSOs demanded that the Armed Forces (Special Power) Act, 1958 (AFSPA) be immediately repealed.

Separately, civil society organizations demanded that a location be allocated for the construction of a monolith to honor the victims.

The site will be designated a ‘Genocide Park’ to honor the lives of the 14 innocent victims.

CSOs advised that the Konyaks could be forced to adopt extreme measures if they don’t get their request for a site allocation by the deadline.

CSOs organize various protest and commemorative events in Nagaland since December 4th, which includes the capital of Kohima.

A candlelight parade will be organized in Mon district, along with Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjum.

This will be followed with a mass public rally on December 16 and a reminder of the earlier memorandum would be submitted to the Government of India through the state government.

The Nagaland government last week has decided to hold a special session of the Assembly on December 20 to discuss and pass a resolution for repealing the AFSPA.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed by the state government to probe the December 4 incident, has requested the people having any information on the incident to contact it.

The 5-member SIT has started its investigation under the overall supervision of Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Sandeep M.Tamgadge.

Meanwhile, the Army has also initiated the court of inquiry into the incident, which rocked the entire country.
