New Delhi, November 20, 2018 : .In a Marijuana Sale through Amazon ecommerce portal, Bhind Police Madhya Pradesh has charged Executive Directors of Amazon Seller Services Limited under Section 38 of the NDPS Act.
Traders across the country appreciate MP Police’s firmness in handling this matter.They have praised MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, MP Home Minister Narottam Misra and the MP Police for their efficiency in dealing with the issue.
The Confederation of All India Traders had previously greatly appreciated Narottam’s statement, which issued a clear and unambiguous warning to Amazon to either cooperate in the investigation by the MP Police or they would be taken to the MP by force.
Mishra’s statement has raised hopes in the trade community that the sensational issue won’t be diluted, as the statement has closed all escape routes to Amazon.CAIT stated.
CAIT stated that Amazon’s current reports of the sale of marijuana via the eportal is shocking and a wake-up call.
These companies have the ability to do everything, even selling prohibited items.
CAIT regrets that when the Government intends to take any action against Amazon they reply with a stereotypical response that the company’s internal investigation is being conducted.
It is important to ask whether Amazon is larger than the government.To avoid external investigation, they open an internal probe whenever there’s illegality.
CAIT stated that agencies do not consider Indian probe to be a bigger probe than theirs and therefore they don’t take action against companies which promote more illegal practices.
It has been claimed that Amazon facilitates the trade in marijuana through its marketplace platform.
This platform is intended to be a link between buyers and sellers for sale or purchase of allowed goods/services.Madhya Pradesh Police’s recent investigation has shown that Amazon is aware and actively involved in the operation of drug rackets on its marketplace platform.
Amazon took a major part of sales proceeds and took a share (66 percent) of them as a profit/sales commission.
