Panaji, Nov 19, : .Although unseasonal rains might cast shadows over the opening ceremonies of 52nd International Film Festival of India’s 52nd Edition, preparations continue as normal, Subhash Phaldesai, vice-chairman of Entertainment Society of Goa and one of co-organisers of this event said Friday.
The preparations are underway.We have been prevented from outdoor erection or installations due to the heavy rains.It is still possible, but we are still waiting.”We are only 18 hours from the largest festival,” Phaldesai stated.

We are ready and waiting.The majority of the installation are complete.

Rains have prevented the red carpet from being laid.He also stated that he hoped the rains would soon cease.

Festival will show 148 films from 73 nations in its international section.The 12 world premieres and 26 Asia premieres will be shown at the festival.

The festival will feature OTT platforms such as Viacom, Amazon Zee 5, Zee 5 or Zee 5 for the first time ever.

Carlos Saura’s “The King of all the World” (El Rey de Todo El Mundo), will open the festival.

Jane Campion’s “The Power of the Dog”, winner of the Venice Film Festival’s Best Director Award, will direct the middle-fest film.

Semkhor, directed by Aimee Barruah and the opening film of Indian Panorama 2021, is Aimee’s first film in Dimasa to appear at IFFI.

Martin Scorsese, Istevan Zabo and Istevan Szabo are cinema giants who will be honored with the Satyajit Ray’s first Lifetime Achievement Award.The festival will also honor late Kannada actor Puneet Rajkumar along with Sir Sean Connery.
