New Delhi, November 18 : , Two Sikh members are currently being evacuated to Afghanistan after the war, India World Forum officials announced on Thursday.
Satveer Singh (Indian citizen, serving as Head Granthi, Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Kabul for the last twenty-one years) and Sorjit Sing, Afghan Citizen, who hails from Khost Province, and is caretaker at Gurdwara located there were both evacuated Thursday.

This evacuation was made possible by the Indian government, in collaboration with India World Forum.India World Forum stated that two people were evacuated from Afghanistan by the Indian World Forum, in coordination with India’s Government and Sobti Foundation.

Private airline will fly both the Indian citizen Satvir Singh (Indian Citizen) and Afghan citizen Sorjit Sing to New Delhi on Friday.They will spend the night in Tehran.

According to Puneet Singh Chandhok (President of Indian World Forum), 218 Afghan citizens belonging to Hindu and Sikh communities are still waiting for e-visas.

India began its mission to evacuate Kabul’s citizens after the Taliban seized Kabul.

Operation Devi Shakti was the name of the evacuation operation.

India started the complicated evacuation mission on August 16th by flying 40 Indians to Delhi from Kabul.

India has already evacuated more than 800 Afghans.

To expedite the entry of Afghan nationals to India, an “e-Emergency X-Misc Visa”, a category created by the ministry of external affairs in August has been introduced.

India World Forum thanked the Ministry of External Affairs as well as other agencies that assisted in the evacuation.
