Thiruvananthapuram : , Former Prime Minister H.D.Deve Gowda visited on Thursday the famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in the capital.Gowda is the Janata Dal’s national president.
He is visiting the state in order to meet with the party leaders, which are allies of Pinarayi Vijayan’s ruling Left Democratic Front government.
He was joined by K.Krishnankutty, a Minister for Electricity from the state party and several other leaders of state.
The temple custom requires that all males enter the sanctum Sanctorum wearing a ‘dhothi’.
Therefore, the ex-PM followed this rule and spent approximately 40 minutes at the temple.
After a Supreme Court-appointed panel discovered six vaults within the temple, only vault B had to be open, it became the center of attention.
Over Rs 1 lakh crore was estimated to have been found within the vaults.
