New Delhi, November 18 : , The Alliance of Digital India Foundation announced Thursday a partnership with the Coalition for App Fairness (US-based) to create a digital market in India.This partnership follows the Global Conference on Mobile App Ecosystem Fairness in South Korea, where discussion centered around regulation of the app ecosystem.

Global protests have been rising against anti-competitive policies by Google and Apple in their app stores.These include a high gatekeeper tax that applies to all digital products.
Each player has gone to extraordinary lengths to consolidate their market leadership in the global markets.
The challenge to the dominance of Google and Apple has been led by Washington-based CAF and ADIF.This partnership will allow them both to work together in advocacy and amplifying events, content and other efforts.

South Korea’s recent law to allow competition in the digital marketplace is a significant step forward.It has also highlighted the need for comparable legislation in India and other countries to create an app marketplace that allows developers to innovate and grows, as per the ADIF.
