Panaji 18 Nov : .Utpal Parrikar, the son of former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, reiterated Thursday his desire for a BJP ticket in order to challenge his father’s Assembly seat.

He also warned that he may have to make tough choices if the ruling party refuses him the ticket.
Utpal Parrikar stated that he had already told his party about my intention to run for Panaji elections and that he was confident that the party would grant me a ticket.

However, the BJP has stated that the decision to field him from Panjim will only be made after examining the ground reports.

Utpal met many supporters and well-wishers at Mahalaxmi temple, the capital of the state to celebrate his birthday.

Utpal answered the question “I don’t want to talk about it now.” Manohar Parrikar didn’t get much in his life and I will also have to work hard, and may need to make some difficult decisions.”I have asked for the strength of the goddess towards this end.”

Utpal had been expected to win the Panaji Assembly Bypoll ticket following his father’s death in 2019.However, Sidharth Kuncalienkar was elected instead.

Kuncalienkar is a Parrikar aide.Kuncalienkar was a BJP candidate in the Panaji Bypoll, but lost to Congress’ Atanasio Montserrate.

He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party months later.

Utpal, a disillusioned man, stated that Goa BJP had diverted away from the course set by his father after his death.
