The city police filed a case on Tejasvi Surya on the charges of criminal trespass.
On Tuesday, the OU police have filed a case on Karnataka MP and BJP youth wing president Tejasvi Surya for unlawfully trespassing on the Osmania University (OU) campus.
The police statement says Tejasvi has entered the campus by removing the barricades to pay respects to the martyrs of the Telangana movement.
Based on the complaint filed by OU authorities, the police went against Tejasvi and his supporters under IPC section 447 (criminal trespass) and relevant provisions of the Hyderabad City Police Act.Meanwhile, the MP said the police had forcefully stopped him as he was there to campaign for GHMC polls on behalf of BJP.
However, the city police said the cops did not indulge in any offensive act while the MP and his supporters have overstepped on the rules in OU campus.The city police cited the complaint of the OU Registrar, in which, the BJP leader has reportedly trespassed on the campus without permission by removing the barricades and unofficially holding a meeting.Both BJP and TRS parties are going head-to-head during the campaign as there are just a couple of days left for the elections on, December 1.
