Renowned father-son duo V Vijayendra Prasad and SS Rajamouli, after their Oscar win and the success of their song ‘Naatu Naatu’, are ready to captivate audiences once again with an epic tale.In a recent conversation, Prasad disclosed that their upcoming film, featuring popular Telugu actor Mahesh Babu in the lead role, will resemble the iconic Hollywood franchise Indiana Jones.
The script for this action-packed adventure is set to be completed by July, and Rajamouli will helm the project, just like he did with RRR and the Baahubali series.
Prasad expressed his intention to potentially turn the film into a franchise, similar to Indiana Jones.
He stated, “It will be an adventure-action drama, with lots of emotions, akin to Raiders of the Lost Ark [1981].My script should be complete by July, after which I will hand it over to my son.We hope to make it a franchise, but there’s always room for surprises.By leaving the climax open-ended, we are exploring the possibility of a sequel.”
During the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September 2022, Rajamouli hinted that his next collaboration with Mahesh Babu would be a globetrotting action-adventure, inspired by films like James Bond and Indiana Jones, infused with Indian elements.
V Vijayendra Prasad had initially mentioned the idea of exploring a jungle adventure in 2021.He revealed, “It’s too early to discuss it at length, but I am contemplating an African Forest Adventure for Mahesh Babu’s film.Although nothing is finalized yet, I am currently working on this concept. The shooting schedule has not been determined, but the film is definitely in the pipeline.”
Mahesh Babu, who was last seen in Sarkaru Vaari Paata, eagerly awaits the release of Guntur Kaaram, directed by Trivikram Srinivas. This collaboration marks their third project together.
