Upasana Kamineni, an entrepreneur, accompanied her actor husband Ram Charan to the US during the Oscar campaign for his film RRR.The movie, directed by SS Rajamouli, had a significant promotional campaign to win an Oscar award in the US.The campaign lasted for a long time, and as a result, the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the movie won India its first Oscar in the Original Song category.

In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Upasana spoke about her relationship with Ram and said that he has been a constant support to her.Upasana explained that it was important for her to be with Ram during the Oscar campaign as he needed support for this historic moment.Upasana also revealed that the RRR team had grown to become like a family, and the experience of being in Los Angeles during the Academy Awards felt dreamlike.

She mentioned that just being there for Ram was a huge thing and that he needed as much support as he could get during the event.Upasana said that the experience was very warm and that everyone around them was welcoming.

She also mentioned that it was an unknown territory for them but everyone was so warm and friendly that it was a pleasant experience.

After the historic win, one would think that life would change for the couple, but Upasana said that’s far from the case.Ram does not like cutting cakes or celebrating big things, and he prefers to stay quiet and do his own thing with a few of his friends.Ram and Upasana recently threw a birthday bash in Hyderabad and invited many big names from the Telugu film industry.

Ram’s father, Chiranjeevi, honoured SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravani, and singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava after their Oscar win for the RRR song ‘Naatu Naatu.’
