The Union government has rejected the AP government’s request to allow the second dose of vaccinations for people over 45 years of age.The Union govt has already announced that from the 1st of this month, those above 18 years of age should be vaccinated.As part of this, the Union govt has allotted 13 lakh vaccines to the state govt.But, the AP government said that the second dose of vaccination for people over 45 years of age gives much better results rather than vaccinating people over 18 years.

However, the central government gave a red signal to the AP government’s appeal.Speaking to the media, Anil Kumar Singhal, chief secretary of the state medical health department, said that the Union government had promised to give another 3.5 lakh vaccines along with this to AP.He said that the required funds have been released by the AP govt in advance for this.

Singhal said CM Jagan had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to increase the oxygen quota in the wake of rising corona cases in the state.Also, Jagan asked Modi to send the required number of Remdesivir injections to the state.

Singhal said that ‘PSA’ plants would be set up in hospitals for making them hassle-free for oxygen.
