In a significant development, YSR Congress Party has officially announced Bhumana Abhinay Reddy as its nominee who will contest the forthcoming general assembly elections from the prestigious Tirupati constituency.
YSRCP general secretary V.Vijayasai Reddy formally announced Abhinay’s candidature in the temple city on Saturday.Abhinay is the son of two-time Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, who is and presently the TTD chairman.
With formation of the alliance between Telugu Desam and Jana Sena, it is expected that the Tirupati seat will go to JS.It may be recalled that film star Chiranjeevi had been elected from Tirupati assembly seat on his Prajarajyam party ticket, before the party later merged with Congress.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Abhinay Reddy, who is currently the deputy mayor of Tirupati, expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy for providing him the opportunity to contest from the prestigious Tirupati assembly seat as a nominee of ruling YSRCP.
Abhinay’s tenure as deputy mayor has seen some notable achievements, particularly improvement of road infrastructure in the temple city.He hopes to enhance his family’s political influence in the region by contesting for upcoming Assemly elections.
