High Court orders the State to respond by Wednesday.
Telangana High Court has asked the State government under which provision of law it has been taking applications for regularisation of unregistered sale transactions, Sadabainamas.
After hearing the case, the bench has asked the Advocate General BS Prasad and directed the State to respond by Wednesday.
The bench of Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Justice B Vijaysen Reddy questioned as to how the government would receive applications under the Act, 1971 which had revoked.
Accordingly, the bench postponed the matter to Wednesday for further hearing after the AG urged the court to adjourn the hearing.
Also, the high court questioned encroachments of Wakf Board properties and expressed unsatisfaction with the functioning of the State Wakf Board.
The bench has directed the chief executive officer of the Wakf Board to appear in the court on November 16 to explain how it is failing to protect its properties in the State.
Reportedly, out of the existing 723 Muslim graveyards in GHMC, 86 graveyards have gone for encroachments.
However, only five FIRs have filed against the illegal encroachers.The court said it is the fundamental duty of the Wakf Board to protect its properties.
