Telangana : DKS Invites KCR to check welfare in Karnataka under Congress rule

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress state chief, DK Shivakumar, issued a challenge to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday, October 28.

He invited KCR to visit Karnataka and witness firsthand the successful implementation of the Congresss poll guarantees in the state.

In the run-up to the Karnataka Assembly elections held in May, the Congress made five significant promises to the electorate, which played a pivotal role in its victory over the incumbent BJP.Notably, in Telangana, the Congress has put forth six key pledges ahead of the upcoming November 30 Assembly elections.Shivakumars response seems to be a reaction to the BRS campaign, suggesting that a Congress victory in Telangana could lead to a similar administrative disaster as seen in Karnataka.

Asserting his position, Shivakumar stated, "If KCR has any doubts, let him visit Karnataka and see for himself how well the Congress is implementing its guarantees." He further challenged KCR to inquire with relatives of Telangana residents in Karnataka to gather authentic information.

The Karnataka deputy chief minister expressed readiness to arrange transportation for KCR, his son KT Rama Rao, and other Telangana ministers to personally assess the situation.Shivakumar emphasized the contrast between Telangana and Karnataka, highlighting that in Karnataka, the Congress promptly initiated the fulfillment of its commitments from the very start of its tenure.

He called for consultations with farmers in both states to discern the reality of the situation.Shivakumar also emphasized the welfare measures enacted in Karnataka, including free power supply, financial aid for women under Gruha Lakshmi, and the distribution of free superfine rice to the underprivileged.

He expressed confidence in the Congress forming the government in Telangana and reiterated the partys commitment to the six guarantees provided to the people.Shivakumar concluded by underlining the Congresss dedication to the welfare of the less privileged, expressing assurance that this commitment would lead to the partys victory in Telangana.

In a separate statement, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that the people would reject the BRS, considering it an isolated entity. He criticized KCR for making unfounded allegations.

Shivakumar added a spirited note, asserting that they would hold KCR accountable for any ill-gotten gains and not allow him to retire quietly even after the election results are announced.
