Supreme Court gives notice to TDP

The notice came in response to a petition file by YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy over the construction of party office in Mangalagiri.

The Apex court on Tuesday heard a petition filed by YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and given notice to Telugu Desam Party, Andhra Pradesh government and the CRDA over illegal allotment of land in Mangalagiri of Guntur district.

The court has given the notice ordering to file counter in three weeks.On behalf of petitioner RK, Lawyers Prashant Bhushan and Ramesh appeared in the court on Tuesday.

According to MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, the previous government issued an inappropriate GO in 2017.The GO says 3.65 acres of land in Survey No.392 in Atmakuru area near Mangalagiri has allotted to TDP on a lease basis for 99 years for the construction of a TDP office.

Earlier, public interest litigation filed in the AP High Court alleging the issuing of GO is illegal and against the environmental laws.According to the petitioner’s lawyer, allotment of land in streams, bends, ponds and river basins for construction is against the law.However, the High Court rejected his plea and struck down the petition, further which, Ramakrishna Reddy approached the Supreme Court.
