Supreme court allows Ganesh idols immersion in Hussain Sagar

The Supreme Court has given the green signal for the immersion of Ganesh idols made of Plaster of Paris (POP) this year in the Hussain Sagar.A bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana has given a green signal for immersion of Ganesh idols in the Hussain Sagar.

The Supreme Court on Thursday heard a petition seeking immersion of Lord Ganesh idols in the Hussain Sagar.The Telangana government has challenged the High Court judgment in the Supreme Court.

GHMC has filed a petition in the Supreme Court on the immersion of Ganesh idols in the Hussain Saga issue.The Solicitor General, Tushar Mehta, said that the statues are very tall, and many difficulties arise with the sudden execution of orders.

The Solicitor General explained that cranes had already been set up around the Hussain Sagar to move the statues immediately after immersion to prevent pollution.

CJI said he was aware of the difficulties of Ganesh idols immersion in Hyderabad.

A state government lawyer said 22 small ponds had been set up in the city, but it was not possible to immerse large statues in them.Finally, the Supreme court has given a green signal to the immersion of Ganesh idols in Hussain Sagar.
