SP Maurya denies links with Tyagi and blames the BJP’s “web of lies’

Lucknow 10 August : The former BJP Minister, and currently Samajwadi Party (SP) MLC, Swami Prasad Maurya has provided a strong defense of his alleged connections with self-proclaimed politician Shrikant Tyagi.
Maurya claimed that the ruling BJP government in Uttar Pradesh of trying to trap the citizens of the nation in the ‘web of lies in the event of being held in a corner by the Shrikant Tyagi incident.

Tyagi was wanted for 4 days, was nabbed by Noida Police on Tuesday in connection with assaulting and abusing a woman at the Grand Omaxe Society in Noida.

After the incident, Noida Police Commissioner Alok Singh claimed that Tyagi had an “MLA” label on one of his vehicles that he claimed was given to him by an “old political friend” Swami Prasad Maurya.

“We are investigating this information.His driver had scribbled the Uttar Pradesh government emblem on the car’s number plate.

Investigation is under way pursuant to the Gangster Act,” Singh added.

Maurya who lives in Kushinagar reported to journalists, “The BJP is trying to trap people in the “web of lies’.

I haven’t been to the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in months.There were no passes issued in the past seven or eight months.

I was made an MLC on July 11, and no passes were issued since the date of my appointment.I did not grant a passes to Shrikant Tyagi.

All this is a ploy of the BJP who want to shift blame onto me for its error.Naturally, I did meet his (Shrikant Tyagi) in 2017 when I was a BJP leader.After that, he never met me.”

In a scathing attack on the BJP over the Shrikant Tyagi issue the SP MLC said: “He (Shrikant) had a half dozen security personnel assigned to him.Could this be possible without the approval of the BJP government?”
