The merger issue with TRS has definitely driven Congress high command towards bifurcating AP but off late, there are indications from TRS that it may not be game for a merger with Congress.While TRS is confident of having an independent reign over the region, even Congress is making its own calculations.
Sources say that even Sonia is not keen on seeking merger from TRS mainly due to two reasons.They are in case TRS party merges with them, the cadre of TRS which had come largely from TDP may not merge and half of them may go towards TDP and rest with BJP and there may be no benefit of merger.
The second reason is that there are close to 75 lakh people from Seemandhra living not just in Hyderabad but whole of Telangana and chances are that no one from them will vote for congress if TRS is taken in and they may vote for the party only to see that TRS gets defeated! That way it looks like the very purpose of creating Telangana is having no use.
