Bengaluru 10th Sep : The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has stressed the significance of passengers in the rear seat wearing a seatbelts while traveling in four-wheelers.In reference to the tragic loss of industrialist Cyrus Mistry, who died in an accident on the road close to Mumbai on Sunday.Gadkari declared, “I have put in place laws in this regards.”
Mistry, the former Tata Sons Chairman, was sitting in the back seat and not wearing the seat belt when his Mercedes crashed into the partition in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Sunday.
At a press conference in this town, Gadkari said that provisions are being created to introduce an alarm system for seat belts for the rear seat, exactly like the driver’s.
“Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has called me three times from London to launch an campaign in the background of the demise of Cyrus Mistry,” Gadkari declared.
“Though wearing a seatbelt is required for people sitting in the back seat of an automobile but it isn’t always followed.Amitabh Bachchan Akshay Kumar with several cricketers have agreed to advocate for this service free of cost.” Gadkari said.
